João Ricardo the PBR leader riding as an Iron Cowboy
After leaving Las Vegas sad for not getting the world title, João Ricardo Vieira, began the 2015 season excited hoping to try once again be the world champion.
In the last two seasons, he was third in 2013, second in 2014. At this point comes the question. 2015 would be the year he can get the title?
Before the first rodeos, this was the speech of João. He always recognized that to be the champion would have to do something different, have a strong rhythm, ride most of the bulls. In theory was what he thought, in practice, before the Arlington event in Texas, nothing of that happened.
It was from the Iron Cowboy João Ricardo began making steel performances over the bulls.
“I do not know what was happening, dedication, how to train was the same, I was not getting to win the Bulls.” He said
Although he says it was the same form of training, figures show exactly the opposite
Before Arlington Event (Iron Cowboy) João go to eight rodeos. Ride on 26 bulls and managed eight seconds at 12 ( 46%). He scored 270 points. His best result at that stage, was a ninth place in New York.
“João Ricardo is not as good this year, but this week I will make better riders, I want to win here again” explained João about his time minutes before rode the bull ‘Grandpa Joe’ for 85.50 points in round one and start giving the first step in his second victory on Iron Cowboy at Dallas Cowboys Stadium and be the one to win this competition two times.
In this second part of the season João rode in ten events including tree editions of 15/15.
He won 17/25 of the bulls that ride(68%). He scored 2237.50 points. Exactly 89% of the total points (2627.5 ).
In six events, John ended in TOP03. A true sequel to Iron Cowboy.
“I believe that I’m riding in the right bulls, now I know about the bulls, I’m sure it has helped me too,” explains João.
He and Matt Triplett are the only who managed two scores in the ’90 point club ‘and the best score of the season also is of João, 92.25 points riding’ Walk Off ‘in Seattle.
“I’m feeding me well, very rest, is still too early to talk about title, we have a long way and many difficulties to face, like in last week in Billings, When I rode five bulls with torn rib cartilage” said John about the last week
